Foxdrill team completes another successful knuckle boom cylinder replacement
Following the successful execution of an inventive rigging solution to replace the cylinders of knuckle boom cranes on a drillship in the Ivory Coast last summer, the Foxdrill team recently faced a similar challenge on another drillship in the region. Ingenious rigging solution Again, several cylinders on different knuckle boom cranes had to be replaced. However, the conditions on this drillship were very different and presented new challenges. For example, the two knuckle boom cranes at the rear of the drillship could not reach each other. Foxdrill came up with an ingenious rigging solution to lower the cylinders and lift the replacement cylinder without the use of a crane. In addition, the drillship's drilling operations had to continue uninterrupted, which meant that the knuckle boom cranes had to be out of service for as short a time as possible.

Foxdrill contributes to sustainable future energy source
Geothermal energy can play an important role in the energy transition. It is sustainable, reliable, predictable and available everywhere in the world. However, the water that contains the heat cannot be extracted from the ground everywhere. It depends on the subsoil, the rocks and layers of the earth. To get a better picture of our subsoil, Energie Beheer Nederland and TNO are carrying out the SCAN programme. This involves seismic research and exploratory drilling. Wagenborg Foxdrill is also involved.
